Justin Timberlake Game Show Ordered By Fox
A game show created by Justin Timberlake and Andrew Glassman has been ordered by Fox.
The show is titled “Spin the Wheel”. It will see contestants playing for a cash sum of up to $20 million against a 40-foot-wide wheel. The game is simple enough: contestants are asked pop culture trivia questions. A correct answer adds a wedge to the wheel with a cash sum. An incorrect answer adds a wedge that could potentially bring a contestant’s sum down to $0. Each round contestants are given the option to walk away or risk it all for one more spin. It has been described as a suspenseful mix between pop culture trivia knowledge and luck.
The show will be hosted by actor Dax Shepard, whose credits include Without a Paddle, Zathura: A Space Adventure and MTV’s Punk’d. He has expressed excitement about this role saying “I can't think of a better job than giving out millions of dollars to nice people. It's my chance to finally be Willy Wonka.”
Rob Wade, president of alternative entertainment at Fox, has expressed confidence in the project stating “This show is massive on so many levels and has the ability to change people's lives. We have a charismatic and hilarious host in Dax, an uber-producer in Andrew, an insanely creative global superstar in Justin and one of the biggest prizes in primetime history. We can't wait to spin the wheel.”
Timberlake will act as an executive producer alongside Glassman, who has just finished executive producing his second season of the game show The Wall, which has had another 20 episodes ordered by Fox.
It is unclear how many episodes have been ordered or when it will be airing.
