Jimmy Fallon under fire for SNL blackface sketch
Fallon apologised for the 'unquestionably offensive' sketch, which resurfaced yesterday (May 26).
After a video of Jimmy Fallon wearing blackface on a 2000 SNL sketch resurfaced, The Tonight Show host has issued an apology.
In the video, Fallon impersonates Chris Rock. Following the subsequent backlash, Fallon posted a statement on Twitter, saying “I am very sorry for making this unquestionably offensive decision and thank all of you for holding me accountable.”
In 2000, while on SNL, I made a terrible decision to do an impersonation of Chris Rock while in blackface. There is no excuse for this.
I am very sorry for making this unquestionably offensive decision and thank all of you for holding me accountable.
