Irish chef Anna Haugh to host new series of Masterchef alongside Grace Dent
This news comes after previous long running presenters John Torrode and Greg Wallace were axed after an enquiry by the BBC into Wallace’s alleged misconduct.
Irish chef Anna Haugh will host the new series of Masterchef
Haugh first appeared on our screens in BBC's The Stress Test (2004) while working at the Pied à Terre restaurant with Shane Osborn. She appeared as a guest judge on Gordon Ramsey's U.S. show Hell's Kitchen in 2013 and was a chef on BBC's Ready Steady Cook in 2020, presented by Rylan Clark-Neal.
She previously appeared on the celebrity version of Masterchef as a guest judge on the 11th episode (Series 17) which was broadcast in September 2022.
This news comes after previous long running presenters John Torrode and Greg Wallace were axed after an enquiry by the BBC into Wallace’s alleged misconduct.
In November 2024 the BBC confirmed Wallace would be leaving the show while allegations made against him were investigated. An investigation by a third party upheld 45 of 83 complaints made. Most complaints related to inappropriate sexual language and humour, with one incident of unwelcome physical contact. Wallace later apologised, saying he was "deeply sorry for any distress caused" and that he "never set out to harm or humiliate".
John Torrode was found to have used racist language, causing the BBC and production company Banijay UK to not renew his contract.
The final series staring the pair is currently airing on BBC One, where Anna Haugh will appear in the final week.
Grace Dent was announced to be replacing Greg Wallace following his departure from the show in 2024. She is due to star in the latest filmed series of the celebrity version of show alongside John Torrode, however, the BBC have not announced broadcast details for this series.
Earlier this month, the BBC announced TV host and chef Matt Tebbutt will replace Wallace on the next series of MasterChef: The Professionals.
