Sharon Horgan's forthcoming HBO comedy series, Youth, has announced key additions to its recurring cast: Harriet Walter (Succession), Anne Reid (The Sixth Commandment, Last Tango in Halifax), and Freddie Fox (House of the Dragon, The Great).
Horgan both writes and stars in the series, which follows a 50-year-old divorcee navigating the complexities of finding love and sex while simultaneously managing the care of her ill parents and parenting her adult son.
Aran Murphy, the son of Oscar-winner Cillian Murphy, is also joining the project. Murphy will co-star alongside Sharlene Whyte, Robbie Gee, and Rupert Friend.
The series is produced by Horgan's production company, Merman, known for titles like Bad Sisters and Amandaland. Horgan serves as an executive producer alongside Faye Dorn, Jim Kleverweis, and Dawn Shadforth, with Shadforth also directing.
Horgan is an Irish actress, writer, director, producer, and comedian, best known for creating and starring in the comedy series Pulling (2006–2009), Catastrophe (2015–2019), and the thriller Bad Sisters. She also created and executive-produced HBO's Divorce in 2016.
