A Friends reunion is reportedly in the works
A Friends reunion might actually happen!
Since the show ended in 2004, there have been rumours about a Friends reunion. This time, however, they seem to be true. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the full main cast could get back together again for an unscripted special in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the show.
Sources told THR that all of the six core stars, Jennifer Aniston, Matthew Perry, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc, as well as series creators David Crane and Marta Kauffman, are in talks for a HBO Max one-off special. It would see the cast and creators look back at iconic moments from the show.
The Hollywood Reporter stresses that negotiations are in early stages, though. Even if the deal were to be completed, everyone's schedules still had to be sorted out.
In the past, the cast, as well as Crane and Kauffman, have ruled out a scripted return to the show. Nevertheless, Jennifer Aniston recently teased a Friends reunion when talking to Ellen Degeneres back in October. "We would love for there to be something", she said, "but we don't know what that something is. So we're just trying. We're working on something."
The actress also joined Instagram last month, surprising everyone with a reunion snapshot of the Friends cast as her first post.
