First Trailer for Outlander Season 5 Unveiled

After Starz pushed back the release date for the fifth installment of Outlander to early 2020, we now finally get a first look at the new season. The trailer, which was unveiled at New York Comic-Con last weekend, suggests that there is trouble on the horizon for Claire, Jamie and their family.

Season 4 of Outlander closed with a rather happy end, which saw Brianna and Roger finally reunited and the Fraser family settling down in North Carolina. However, in a last-minute plot twist, it was revealed that Jamie has been given the order to hunt down and kill Murtagh, his own godfather - and that's exactly where the trailer as well as season 5 picks up.

The trailer also shows Claire and Jamie getting ready to defend their family and home as the American Civil War is approaching. The only solution to protect their family might be returning to the future, which would separate Jamie and Claire once again.

The new season is set to air from February 16 on Starz. Previously, the return of Outlander has been delayed to early 2020 due to scheduling decisions made by the station bosses.
