First look images of Charlie Brooker's Blackmere released

The first look images of Charlie Brooker's new series Blackmere have been released. The show was formerly known as Untitled Charlie Brooker Project.

Rory Kinnear (The Diplomat) has also been announced as a cast member. He will join Paddy Considine (House of the Dragon), Georgina Campbell (Barbarian), and Lena Headey (Game of Thrones).

The programme is described as an absurd comedy masked as a crime thriller.

"Tormented Detective John Blackmere (Paddy Considine) leaves the rain-soaked Northern city of Bleakford for London to avenge his partner’s death and catch a ritualistic serial killer before they run out of victims. Contains blood and frowning."

The six-part series was created and written by Brooker, along with writers Ben Caudell, Jason Hazeley, Emer Kenny, Daniel Maier and Joel Morris. Victoria Asare Archer has also provided additional material for the series.

He is also an executive producer on the show, along with Jessica Rhoades and Annabel Jones. Mark Kinsella is a co-executive producer, and Richard Webb is producing the series. Al Campbell serves as series director.

Brooker has previously collaborated with Netflix with his anthology series, Black Mirror, and the mockumentary Death to 2020. Black Mirror will return to Netflix for an eighth season, which began filming during the summer.
