Ed Sheeran To Play Himself In Beatles-inspired Movie
Ed Sheeran has admitted that he didn't need much research for his big screen debut. He actually plays himself in a leading role in director Danny Boyle's new Beatles-inspired movie, the singer-songwriter has just revealed.
"I was playing myself so I I don’t think I was that bad! There wasn’t much to [mess] up," Ed joked.
While Ed has also revealed that he now has ambitions to make "something like" the Irish movie Once “where the songs dictate the film, in a way.”
Ed Sheeran is clearly on a role with his part in the new Danny Boyle and his cameo in the Games of Thrones. But he insists that he won't be making blockbusters anytime soon.
“I can’t see myself playing an Avenger, you know? I don’t really want to be an actor," Ed Sheeran insisted.
The still untitled Danny Boyle movie project is about a young would-be singer-songwriter who wakes up one morning to mysteriously discover that he's the only person on the entire planet who can remember The Beatles and their songs!
The film was written by by Richard Curtis, best known for writing and directing duties on Four Weddings And A Funeral and Notting Hill.
The would-be musician with the Fab Four memories and songs trapped in his head is being played by former Eastenders actor, Himesh Patel.
Talking about his exciting tole in the movie, Ed Sheeran told Associated Press: "And then I discover him and take him on tour. Then he gets much, much bigger than me through doing stuff. Yeah, it’s very clever.”
Ed Sheeran has already filmed his scenes for the movie. “It was a very intense two months,” Ed noted. “I would have four days of gigging and then three days of shooting a film."
