David Walliams is suing Britain's Got Talent production company
Walliams’ representatives are yet to comment.
David Walliams is suing the Britain's Got Talent production company at the UK's High Court in London.
Walliams was a judge on the show from 2012 until 2022, when he resigned.
The case is listed as dealing with data protection and has been lodged against FremantleMedia. The production company have declined to comment on the situation.
Walliams has since been replaced by former Strictly Come Dancing judge Bruno Tonioli, who is now on the judging panel on the ITV talent programme alongside Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon.
His resignation followed the comedian apologising for making "disrespectful comments" about auditioning contestants during breaks in filming for the show in January 2020.
The publication reported that a spokesperson for Thames TV, part of FremantleMedia, had said that although the production company regarded Walliams’ comments as private, nevertheless, his language was "inappropriate".
