Conan O'Brien to host the 2027 Oscars
The former talk show host will host the Academy Awards for his third consecutive year.
Conan O'Brien has been confirmed as the host of the Oscars in 2027.
The 2027 ceremony marks the 99th Oscars, and will take place on Sunday, March 14, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
Next year will be the penultimate year the ceremony is held in Hollywood. In 2029, Youtube will take over broadcasting the ceremony.
O'Brien took over hosting the Academy Awards in 2025 from Jimmy Kimmel, and returned this March.
Continuing with him into next year are executive producers Raj Kapoor, and Katy Mullan.
"Getting to reunite with Conan O'Brien for a third year at the Oscars is really special", stated the pair. "He brings that signature humour everyone loves, along with a real warmth and generosity that carry through the entire show".
O'Brien is best known for hosting US talk shows Late Night with Conan O'Brien, The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien, and, Conan. As well as having previously served as a writer for The Simpsons, and Saturday Night Live.
When filming his travel show, Conan O'Brien Must Go in 2024, he made stops in Dublin, Galway, and Limerick.
While in Galway, he appeared briefly on the Irish-language soap opera Ros na Rún, where he played a clumsy balloon delivery man. This was part of his journey in discovering his heritage, following a DNA test O'Brien took that year revealing he is "100pc Irish".
O'Brien also visited Galbally, Limerick. He had traced his roots back to his great-grandfather, Thomas O'Brien who left for America in the 1870s.
