Charity Screening of Hit Irish Film 'Dublin Oldschool'
The event will take place on Monday 17 September at The Lighthouse Cinema at 6pm and all proceeds will go to the Ana Liffey Drug Project.
The Irish film of the Summer, Dublin Oldschool, will be screened in The Lighthouse Cinema on Monday 17 September as part of a charity fundraiser in aid of drug awareness charity The Ana Liffey Drug Project. Ana Liffey is a not for profit organisation, that provides a ‘Low Threshold - Harm Reduction’ service to individuals who are experiencing problem substance use and their families.The charity promotes treating drug users and addicts with dignity and respect, and encouraging the reforming of Irelands drug laws. They recently featured in the Hot Press Chat Room tent at Electric Picnic where the de-criminalization of drug possession and personal use was discussed.
Dublin Oldschool, based on the play of the same name, was written by star Emmet Kirwan and Director Dave Tynan. The film tackles a variety of social issues, namely drug use. The screening will commence at 6.30pm, and will be followed by a Q&A with Kirwan's co-star Ian Lloyd Anderson and our very own Roisín Dwyer. It will be preceded by a drinks reception at 6pm.
