Bryan Dobson to present final show today after 37 year career
The broadcaster takes his leave after a long-standing career in RTÉ
RTÉ broadcaster Bryan Dobson retires today after 37 years of presenting many the station’s leading news programmes across TV and radio.
After joining RTÉ in 1987, Dobson went on to become the face of the Six One News, which he anchored for 21 years. He has been at RTÉ Radio One since 2017, where he currently presents the News at One.
Announcing his retirement in January, Dobson said: “After 37 fantastic years with RTÉ the time has come to move on. I will miss working with some wonderfully talented and hardworking colleagues.”
“RTÉ journalism depends on teamwork,” he continued, “and I have worked with some of the very best. I am grateful too to the listeners and viewers who have give me their time and attention over the years. I hope to have repaid that trust with reporting that was relevant, fair and accurate.”
Dobson is also set to appear on the Late Late Show tonight following his final News at One show.
