BBC confirms return of Peaky Blinders with two new series
“I’m thrilled to be announcing this new chapter in the Peaky Blinders story… the new generation of Shelbys have taken the wheel and it will be a hell of a ride,” said Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight.
The BBC has announced that Peaky Blinders will return with two new series, focusing on a new generation of the Shelby family.
They will be written by the show's original creator, Steven Knight, and produced in partnership with Netflix.
Set in 1950s Birmingham, the storyline will explore the city’s post-war reconstruction and the conflicts surrounding it.
Each series will consist of six 60-minute episodes. They are being produced by Kudos (SAS Rogue Heroes, House of Guinness) and Garrison Drama, which previously worked on the first six series of Peaky Blinders and the upcoming film adaptation.
Steven Knight will return as writer and executive producer alongside Peaky Blinders protagonist Cillian Murphy among others.
Peaky Blinders originally aired on BBC Two in 2013 and concluded its sixth series in 2022.
No casting details or release dates have been confirmed at this time.
