BAFTA Awards 2025: Kneecap scores six nominations while Saoirse Ronan gets Leading Actress nod
The winners will be revealed at the awards ceremony next month
The nominations for the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) 2025 have been revealed – with Kneecap receiving an impressive six nominations, and Saoirse Ronan scoring a nomination for Leading Actress.
The multi-award-winning Kneecap– which delves into the origin story of the Belfast hip-hop trio of the same name, and has already been shortlisted in two categories for the Oscars – were nominated in the following categories:
- Outstanding British Film
- Original Screenplay
- Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer (for Rich Peppiatt)
- Film Not In The English Language
- Casting (Carla Stronge)
- Editing (Julian Ulrichs, Chris Gill)

Saoirse Ronan features in the Leading Actress category for her role in The Outrun. She's up against the likes of Cynthia Erivo, Demi Moore, Mikey Madison, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, and Karla Sofía Gascón.
The winners will be announced on Sunday, February 16, at a ceremony broadcast on BBC One. See the full list of nominations here.
