Whozyerman? to play Workman's Cellar to celebrate debut solo album release
Presented by singular artists, Whozyerman? will perform in Dublin's Workman’s Cellar on September 28th.
Paul Savage, former frontman of Waterford five-piece O Emperor, has announced a Workman's Cellar gig this September to mark the release of Whozyerman?'s debut solo album Blink.
O Emperor took home the Choice prize for Best Album back in 2019 for Jason while simultaneously announcing the band’s split, if you've forgotten. In the intervening years, Savage relocated to Bray and spent the pandemic jamming and recording in his bedroom – the view from which comprises the album’s dreamy artwork.
Blink is a patchwork of styles and influences formed over a lifetime; woozy images are anchored in psychedelia, electronica and bedroom pop. Former O Emperor drummer Brendan Fennessy mixes the record
Having released Blink in February this year, Savage (aka Whozyerman?) is set to make his live debut with his new solo venture Whozyerman? this autumn.
Drawing influence from the likes of Lemon Jelly, David Byrne and Animal Collective, the experimental project further expanded his horizons, as he retains a fiercely DIY ethos. Check out the video for 'All The Time To Kill', premiered by Hot Press.
To mark these shows (and belated album launch), a once-off limited edition run of 40 Lathe-Cut 12" vinyl of Blink will be on sale exclusively at the two shows.
Tickets on sale Friday, July 22nd at 10am.
