What's happening for Culture Night in Offaly this year

Culture Night returns to Offaly this year, bringing a full evening of music, art, food and performance to venues across the county. Organised as part of the national Culture Night initiative, the event gives people a chance to explore local galleries, theatres, museums and community spaces, many of which open their doors for free.

This year's programme features a wide mix of activities for all ages, with something on offer whether you're after live music, hands on workshops or a quiet look round a historic building.

Here are some of the things happening in Offaly:

At John Lees bar in Tullamore, two local troubadours who have been making waves on the national music scene following the release of their acclaimed EPs this year will perform original sets to welcome Culture Night. The free event features Dubh Lee, who has spent the summer touring nationwide in support of her new EP, alongside Hubert, who has been touring extensively across Ireland and the UK.

Also at John Lees bar, a Battle of the Bands open to young musicians aged 12-18 will welcome groups of all genres, performing original songs or covers. The event gives participants the opportunity to compete in front of a live audience, celebrate local youth talent and enjoy an unforgettable evening of music and creativity. The winning bands will earn a place in the Midland Rocks Youth Music Festival which takes place in October 2026.

Meanwhile, Tullamore Camogie Club will celebrate Culture Night with an exciting, fun-filled evening of dance, music and interactive games at St Mary's Youth and Community Centre in Tullamore.

Activities will be centred around young musicians playing their instruments, Irish dance, singing and interactive games such as air hockey, and pool. Tea, coffee and refreshments will be served also.

Culture Night is free to attend and runs from early evening until late, with most venues open between 5pm and 9pm unless stated otherwise.
