WATCH: Trailer for Shia LaBeouf's new McEnroe movie

The actor plays the infamously hot-headed tennis legend in a new trailer released right on time for the start of Wimbledon.

Borg/McEnroe centres around the classic rivalry between giants of the game Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe. The film most notably focuses on the monumental Wimbledon final in 1980, a match often hailed as one of the greatest the sport has ever seen.

While LaBeouf plays tennis' most scandalous star John McEnore, the notoriously calm and collective Bjorg will be played by Swedish native Sverrir Gudnason. Also present is fellow Scandinavian Stellan Skarsgård(Avengers:Age of Ultron).

Borg McEnroe was directed by Janus Metz Pedersen and is set to to be released on September 22.
