UK TV Award nominations feature prominent Irish Actors
The longlist for the UK National Television Awards has been announce and Jamie Dornan, Aidan Turner and Brendan O'Carroll are among the nominees.
Dornan gains a nomination for Best Actor in a Drama for his portrayal of serial killer Paul Spector on the BBC One drama, The Fall, while Turner gets a nomination in the same field for his roles in And Then There Were None and Poldark.
Cillian Murphy (Peaky Blinders), James Nesbitt (Cold Feet) and Dornan's co-star in The Fall, Gillian Anderson, are also longlisted for the Drama award. Voting in all categories is now open to the public.
The Fall also has a nomination in the Best Drama category, while Dublin-filmed Ripper Street is nominated for Best Period Drama.
Mrs. Brown's Boys is up for Best Comedy once again, having previously won the award in 2015. Graham Norton also features prominently at this year's awards, being nominated for both Best Presenter and Best Entertainment Programme for The Graham Norton Show.
THe shortlist for the event, which will be hosted by Dermot O'Leary, will be announced in January and the Awards show will take place on January 25.
