Tickets are on sale now via Ticketmaster.ie
Tommy Tiernan, Gavin James, Emma Doran, Tony Cantwell and Rachel Galvo have been added to the list of stars lined up for the Hot Press show History In The Making, which will kick off Hot Press’ 50th Anniversary activities at 3Arena on February 6.
There will also be spoken word contributions from Emmet Kirwan and Laura Murphy.
The full list of artists set to play on the night already includes a Who’s Who of leading Irish musicians, with Van Morrison, Imelda May, Noel & Mike Hogan of The Cranberries ft Dermot Kennedy, The Boomtown Rats, The Frames, Damien Dempsey, Picture This, Florence Road, Clannad, Belters Only, Denise Chaila and Irish Women in Harmony all appearing on what promises to be an extraordinary celebration of Irish music at its finest.
History In The Making: The Concert is supported by the Bauer Media Group and Go Loud.
“We wanted to launch our 50th Anniversary activities with a really special night,” Hot Press editor Niall Stokes said. “And that’s exactly what our History In The Making concert will be. The support from artists and musicians has been absolutely wonderful – and the extraordinary talent that will gather at 3Arena on the night reflects that. It is a phenomenal bill – and the perfect way for music fans, and fans of Irish music in particular, to begin their musical adventures for 2026.”
Today’s announcement adds a whole new element into what is beginning to look like one of the gigs of the century – so far!

“It's important that we reflect the wider cultural dimension, which is a really vital part of what Hot Press has been about over the years,” Stokes added. “We have Michael D. Higgins, who was a Hot Press columnist for 10 years, before he became President of Ireland, as a special guest, performing with Myles O’Reilly – and it is brilliant to be able now to announce artists like Tommy Tiernan, Emmet Kirwan and Laura Murphy – who reflect different aspects of what has been special about Irish culture during the lifetime of the magazine.
“In addition, to have the brilliant new breed of Irish comedians represented by Emma Doran, Rachel Galvo and Tony Cantwell on board will ensure that there’ll be lots of laughs to be had as well. It really is going to be an extraordinary night. The excitement is mounting. We’re looking forward to every minute of it!”
