The Waterboys tap into human mythology in new 'All Souls Hill' video

Classic folk rock outfit The Waterboys shared a haunting video for their latest single "All Souls Hill' – the title track from their forthcoming album.
The new LP is slated to be released on May 6 via Cooking Vinyl as a follow up to their critically acclaimed 2020 album, Good Luck, Seeker.
'All Souls Hill's stirring lyrics are paired with equally powerful imagery in the new video. The group featured classical artwork from the New York Public Library's archive, with each painting illustrating a couplet from the rolling, poetic track.
"All Souls Hill is a fast-forward blast through human history, from mythical beginnings to coruscating present, set to a psychodramatic soundscape," frontman Mike Scott said of the video.
The group shared the first offering from All Souls Hill last November. The lead single,'The Liar', is a swipe at political charlatanry, particular that of former US president Donald Trump.
The band shared a similarly eerie video for the single which featured work from satirical collagist Cold War Steve.
The Waterboys will share nine tracks on All Souls Hill, all mixed by Scott himself. The album is described as "current, on the money social commentary, but with an air of hope."
"The album is mysterious, otherworldly, tune-banging and emotional.” Scott said. “I made it with Waterboys old and new and my co-producer, brilliant sonic guru Simon Dine. Its nine songs tell stories, explore dreamscapes, and cast a cold but hopeful eye on the human drama."
