The Liberties listed as one of the world's coolest neighbourhoods
The Liberties have joined the long list of Dublin neighbourhoods featured.
The Liberties neighbourhood in Dublin 8 has been named by Time Out magazine as one of the coolest neighbourhoods in the world.
Known for its history and marketplaces, the Liberties were listed at the no. 23 spot. Inchicore made it on the list in 2024, while Stoneybatter made it in 2022, with Smithfield being featured at no.2 in 2023.
The Liberties landscape comprises of medieval structures such as St. Patricks cathedral, gable-fronted houses and former Victorian-era industrial buildings. These days it has become a cultural hotspot for Dubliners of all walks of life with an array of popular cafes, bakeries, pubs, as well as the Vicar Street music venue.
Time Out is a London-based magazine focused on travel recommendations, world attractions, and events.
This year's list was made with a specific vision in mind, as Time Out opted to feature neighbourhoods they consider tight-knit, creative districts, and cultural hubs close to the city centre.
Other neighbourhoods featured were Avondale in Chicago, Borgerhout in Antwerp and Camberwell in London. The full list can be found here.
