The Divine Comedy joins The Liberties, The Horrors ,The Molotovs and more in tribute to the legendary musician.
The Divine Comedy paid tribute to David Bowie in new cover of 'Starman".
The French public art channel, ARTE, recently premiered a documentary tribute to David Bowie, titled Heroes Never Die, commemorating the tenth anniversary of the musician’s passing on January 10, 2016.
Directed by Thierry Gautier and Sylvian Leduc, the documentary examines Bowie’s influence on culture, fashion, and music. The program features Bowie's influential songs covered by The Libertines, The Horrors, Anna Calvi, The Molotovs and more.
Enniskillen band, The Divine Comedy, fronted by Neil Hannon, performed Bowie’s 1972 hit 'Starman' as the penultimate cover of the program. The band delivered the song center stage at the Barbican Centre in London, where the performance was filmed.
"He was a lot braver than most about the craziness of humanity and wanting to throw himself in the deep end," Hannon said "I just hugely admire his willingness to put his sanity on the line for his art”.
The program is available now on the ARTE Concert YouTube channel and the ARTE concert website.
