Serena Terry to premiere one-woman play Factory Settings
Serena Terry assures she has not departed from standup, but is excited to premiere her one-woman play.
Derry comedian Serena Terry will premiere her first one-woman play Factory Settings at Monkey Barrel Comedy, during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival August 12-14.
A three-performance run, the play combines comedy, storytelling and characters from her usual standup sketches. It follows Terry in a futuristic landscape where her “outdated Irish programming” prevents her from attempting a factory reset on her own self.

“This is something I’ve always wanted to do,” said Terry of Factory Settings. “Theatre allows me to do something different … to bring those characters and ideas to life in front of an audience.”
Terry began her comedic career during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020. She’s since sold out her various standup tours and arena shows while having authored two books. She assures she has not departed from her comedy sketches, but is excited to premiere the play before continuing with her tour show, Therapy.
“I still adore standup and creating online content but this little passion project in the interim allows me to take audiences on a journey in a different way.”
The comedian was also featured in Hot Press' Mad Hatter Q&A, ahead of her Dublin 3Olympia gig in 2024.
