Royal Blood's Typhoons debuts at No.1 on the Official Irish Albums Chart

Following its highly anticipated release last week, Royal Blood's new album Typhoons has landed straight in at No.1 in the Official Irish Albums Chart.

Typhoons – which was the biggest album of the week on physical and download formats – is the Brighton duo's second album to take the top spot in Ireland, following the whirlwind success of their self-titled 2014 debut.

“These songs have gone down a lot better than we thought they would,” frontman Mike Kerr tells Hot Press in an upcoming interview. “For a traditional Royal Blood fan, we’ve probably made quite a challenging record. It wasn’t made with that purpose in mind – to try and challenge anyone. This was just the album that we wanted to make, despite what anyone was going to think."

Norwegian rising star girl in red debuts at No.10, with her debut album, if i could make it go quiet; DJ Khaled's enters the charts at Khaled Khaled No.12; while Billie Eilish's debut album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? rises 14 places to No.7, following the release of her new single, 'Your Power'.

The only other newcomer in the Top 30 is Gojira, whose Fortitude is straight in at No. 17.

On the Official Irish Singles Chart, meanwhile, UK rappers Russ Millions and Tion Wayne have gone to No.1 with their viral hit 'Body' – following the success of its remix, featuring Bugzy Malone, Fivio Foreign, Darkoo, Buni, ArrDee, and E1 & ZT.

Lil Nas X's 'Montero (Call Me By Your Name)' moves down one place to No.2, following five weeks at the top of the chart. Billie Eilish follows at No.3, with 'Your Power', while Picture This score their 18th Top 50 hit with 'LA House Party' at No.30. Also new this week are Little Mix, who enter at No. 25 with 'Confetti'.
