Ramon Music Exhibition celebrates Irish Rock through the lense of Dutch Photographers
"Many Irish artists started their careers in the Netherlands, where their journeys were captured by 6 renowned Dutch photographers over the last 50 years," said Ramon Muntjewerff, the exhibition organiser.
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council has unveiled a new exhibition at dlr LexIcon titled 50 Years of Irish Rock Through the Lens of Dutch Photographers. This showcase honors five decades of music photography and the cultural ties between the Netherlands and Ireland.
Curated by Ramon Music Exhibitions, the collection features images of Irish music legends such as U2, Sinéad O’Connor, Rory Gallagher, Van Morrison, Bob Geldof, and Hozier, all captured by Dutch photographers.
“50 years of Irish rock through the lens of Dutch photographers,” said Ramon Muntjewerff, the exhibition organiser. “This exhibition tells the story of Irish rock through both the artists and the photographers who documented them - a visual soundtrack of Irish rock over the decades.”
“We are delighted to welcome this wonderful exhibition to dlr LexIcon and to share it with our community,” said Cathaoirleach Jim Gildea. “It is a vibrant celebration of Irish music, creativity, and cultural connection, and I would warmly encourage people of all ages to come along, explore the photographs, and enjoy this unique experience in one of our welcoming public library spaces.”
The free admission exhibition is scheduled to take place in the dlr in Dún Laoghaire until July 2. It will then run in Cork City Library from July 4 to August 29, before finally moving to the Phoenix Park Visitor Center in Dublin from November 1 to November 30.
