Moe Dunford Announced As Winner Of Breakthrough Artist Award
The Newport Beach Film Festival will honour Irish actor Moe Dunford with the award at the end of April.
Moe Dunford, well known for his work in the film Patrick's Day as well as for his role as a formidable prisoner in the critically acclaimed Michael Inside, is set to receive the Breakthrough Artist Award this month at the Newport Beach Film Festival in Southern California.
The 31-year-old Irish actor has starred in a number of highly praised cinematic endeavours, including three films that will be featured at the California festival: Metal Heart, Rosie and The Dig.
The festival will feature a multitude of Ireland's finest talents during its Irish Showcase on Sunday, April 28. The evening is set to celebrate Irish cinema and culture, presenting the premiere of Dunford's Metal Heart and Rosie as well as Pat Shortt's The Belly of the Whale.
Other Irish films screening at the Newport Beach Film Festival include Irish director Alexandra McGuinness’ film, She’s Missing, starring Lucy Fry and Josh Hartnett, John Butler's Papi Chulo and Carmel Winters’ Float Like A Butterfly.
Dunford will be presented with the Breakthrough Artist Award at the Festival Honours reception at the Balboa Bay Resort on Saturday, April 27.
In addition to his repertoire of films, Dunford has also received praise for his work on the popular TV series Vikings.
