Minister for Culture announces over €250,000 in capital grants for arts and culture organisations
Recipients of the funding include facilities in Cork, Waterford, Galway, Limerick, Westmeath, Dublin and Tipperary
Minister for Culture, Communications and Sport, Patrick O’Donovan, has announced funding of €271,404 in capital grants for arts and culture organisations across the country.
“I am pleased to announce this funding today to these arts and culture organisations,” Minister O’Donovan said.
“Capital schemes such as funding under Stream E of the Cultural Capital Scheme are integral to ensuring the preservation of arts and cultural facilities around the country.”
Eight organisations will benefit from the latest round of investment, which will support the upgrading and development of facilities.
Recipients include The Ark in Dublin, Garter Lane Arts Centre in Waterford, and Galway City Council’s Town Hall Theatre.
The funding is provided under Stream E of the Cultural Capital Scheme, a €1.4 million capital investment programme established in June 2023 to enhance the existing stock of arts and culture centres nationwide.
With today’s announcement, a total of €996,876 has now been awarded under the scheme, benefitting 32 organisations to date.
The latest allocation follows the Minister’s announcement last month of more than €1.4 million in funding for the global promotion of Irish arts through Culture Ireland’s Regular Grants Programme.
