Irish band The Blades announce Dublin Academy headline show
Tickets from €30 go on sale this Friday, September 10th at 9am.
Irish music legends The Blades are set to play The Academy in Dublin on Sunday, December 12th.
Recently inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame, the 7-piece band have made their annual sell-out Christmas show a must-see over the past few years with some truly memorable performances.
"We can't wait to play again after a long two-year absence, we're determined to make this one of our best ever shows, it's the least our supporters deserve," Blades songwriter and frontman Paul Cleary said.
The Blades’ first album in 32 years, Modernised, was released back in 2016. The collection is packed with a mixture of rollicking pop/mod numbers, swooning melodies and sweet soulful anthems - a knowing nod to Cleary’s beloved Motown.
Their latest album follows on from 2015’s EP Smalltime, the first release from the revamped Blades. Since then there have been packed Olympia shows, raucous festival appearances and Whelan's gigs.
Tickets for the Blades' upcoming Academy performance go on sale this Friday.
