Former Hot Press Art Director Neil McCormick to release debut novel
A former Hot Press Art Director, a movie critic, and a long-term Daily Telegraph columnist, Neil McCormick is set to release his debut novel, entitled #Zero.
The publication is being crowdfunded via the Unbound platform.
McCormick is the author of the memoir I Was Bono’s Doppelgänger, which was subsequently adapted for the movie Killing Bono. The connection between the star writer – still an occasional contributor to Hot Press – and the U2 frontman is still a strong one, with Bono coming up with the title for the novel. The singer also has a cameo role in the story – along with Sting and Elton John, both of whom McCormick has interviewed on a number of occasions.
#Zero tells the story of modern day pop star (with all the narcissism, insecurity and drug-addiction that that status entails) who is on the verge of a breakdown.
