Following her hugely successful The Art of the Teese, Dita Von Teese has returned to Europe with two Dublin performances of Glamonatrix.
Burlesque queen and fashion icon Dita Von Teese will play two Dublin shows this weekend. Glamonatrix, a variety show that features extravagant numbers, gorgeously designed costumes and show-stopping performances, will run at 3Olympia Theatre on March 26th and 27th.
Promising four brand new, spectacular acts, Teese will be joined by an ensemble cast and two emerging talents, Dirty Martini and Australia's Zelia Rose.
"With the success of my last tour of Europe, I came home more inspired than ever and got straight into building new acts. I am coming back with an even bigger show than I’ve ever toured with before," said Teese in a statement.
"Being in these historic theaters with audiences coming dressed to the nines, creates this incredible atmosphere unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. For me, burlesque has always been about finding my own power and confidence, embracing sensuality and encouraging others to do the same in their own lives. Glamour is the art of creating mystery and allure, and the new Glamonatrix show embraces all of these qualities."
In addition to musical numbers and performances, audiences can expect clothes created by some of the biggest names in fashion; corsets by Mister Pearl, British designer Jenny Packham, French couturier Alexis Mabille and bespoke footwear by Christian Louboutin, to name a few.
The tour follows her hugely successful 2018 show The Art of the Teese, which played to sold-out theatres across North America, Europe and Australia, garnering critical acclaim and amassing fans the likes of John Paul Gautier, Elton John and Marc Jacobs.
"I feel so fortunate that burlesque has come to symbolize a celebration of beauty and sensuality in many forms, a place where unlikely icons take the stage and inspire others," Teese continued. "I’m proud to be a part of the modern burlesque movement and I’m grateful to have the chance to tour with performers that change people’s minds about striptease."
Glamonatrix will be running March 26th and 27th at the 3Olympia Theatre in Dublin. Tickets can be found here.
