The production company will be pulling all of it's titles from Netflix.
Disney will be launching its own streaming service in 2019, as it plans to pull any of its titles from Netflix around the same time.
Details about the upcoming service are scarce, but CEO Bob Iger stated that if a film/tv show is Disney or Pixar branded, it will be an exclusive title on the service. There is no word on the fate of Marvel or Star Wars titles, however, which are technically owned by the famous animation studio.
But it seems possible that this could be the plan for these lucrative titles in the not too distant future.
Iger called the initiatives "a strategic shift in the way we distribute our content."
Disney also plans to launch an ESPN streaming service early next year. The live sports provider had been losing TV subscribers for years now and and many industry experts had predicted that a stand alone online product would be in the cards for a while now.
