David O’Doherty adds Irish dates to You Have to Laugh tour
Irish stand-up David O’Doherty has added shows in Blanchardstown, Dublin and Galway on his comedy tour You Have to Laugh.
O’Doherty has been active on the Irish comedy circuit since his start in 1998. O’Doherty’s career as a funny man is illustrious: he’s starred in his own RTÉ Two TV show and has won plethora of awards (including Hot Press’s Irish Comedian of the Year Award in 2003).
He has also branched out into other forms of media, appearing in A Film With Me in It and penning a radio show, two books and two plays.
On the You Have to Laugh tour, though, O’Doherty’s characteristic brand of musical comedy is put on full display. Featuring "songs played on a crappy keyboard from 1986," these performances bring O’Doherty’s unfulfilled desire to become a jazz musician into the light.
The new tour dates include:
16 & 17 May – Blanchardstown Draiocht, Blanchardstown
9 June – Vicar Street, Dublin
13 & 14 September – Galway Town Hall, Galway
