Dame Vera Lynn passes away at age 103
The singer and actress was well known for her World War II era songs like 'The White Cliffs of Dover' and 'We'll Meet Again'
The family of Dame Vera Lynn have announced that she has passed away early this morning (June 18), surrounded by her close relatives. She was 103 years of age.
Widely known as "the forces' Sweetheart" due to her morale-boosting songs like 'We'll Meet Again' during the Second World War. She was also the subject and namesake of a popular Pink Floyd song called 'Vera'.
In a statement, Lynn's family said: “The family are deeply saddened to announce the passing of one of Britain’s best-loved entertainers at the age of 103.”
