Cynthia Catania Solo Dates Added to Songwriters On Tap Tour
With gigs in Dublin, Galway and Cork already lined up as part of the Songwriters On Tap tour, the New Jersey artist Cynthia Catania is set to play her first ever solo gigs in Ireland
Cynthia Catania – of Saucy Monky and The Secret Things – has announced a brace of solo dates in Ireland during September.
The guitar-toting, LA-based singer and songwriter will play Mullarkey's Bar, Clifden on Friday Sept 13 and Central Arts Waterford, on Sunday Sept 15. “I will certainly have new toys and songs to share with you,” she promises.
These dates are separate from the Songwriters On Tap tour, which – in addition to Cynthia Catania – also features co-leader of Saucy Monky Annmarie Cullen, Naimee Coleman, Sylvie Lewis and Adam Morcello. As previously announced by Hot Press, Songwriters On Tap play Roisin Dubh, Galway (Sept 19), The DC Music Club, Dublin (Sept 20) and the legendary Connolly's of Leap, West Cork (Sept 21).
Songwriters on Tap have also been confirmed for an appearance on RTÉ Radio One’s arts show, Arena, on September 12. Arena broadcasts from 7pm to 8pm. There has been considerable interest in the project on Irish radio, with the likes of 98fm, KCLR, Galway Bay FM and Spin South-West also supporting what promises to be a fascinating insight into the way in which songwriters think and approach their work – whether separately or together.
All of the songwriters involved have enjoyed considerable success, whether as recording artists, writing songs for film and TV and as performers.
Cynthia Catania, who was the guest sex columnist with Hot Press for much of the past 12 months, has recently embarked on a solo career, releasing the hugely impressive single and video, ‘Phones’ as a taster. She plays a warm-up show in The Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles on Friday September 6.
Cynthia is planning an Indie Go-Go campaign to crowd-fund upcoming solo recordings. Stay tuned to hotpress.com for more information.
