Cork's 'The Last Broadcast' gig to include Toucan, Rowan, Míde Houlihan, Sara Ryan & Jordan Run
The Last Broadcast goes live at 2:30pm on Saturday, August 21st - set to be shown in Cork City venues Alibi, Dwyers, The Old Oak and more.
Five rising Cork-based acts are slated to take part in an event that's undeniably unique to the times that we are living in: The Last Broadcast.
On August 21st, live performances from Toucan, Rowan, Míde Houlihan, Sara Ryan and Jordan Run will be streamed live from Cyprus Avenue and Cork School of Music, and screened in venues and bars around Cork City and beyond as it happens.
Ireland's pubs and venues remains limited in their ability to host live music at the moment, despite Fáilte Ireland's new changes brought in today regarding 200 people outdoors.
Cork company Unemployable Promotions have decided to put together an event that allows live music to be enjoyed in venues, while somehow still adhering to all Covid-19 guidelines.
Taking place between 2:30pm and 7pm, The Last Broadcast features some of the best and brightest that the Cork music scene has to offer, all tied together by host Jess Leen. The performance will allow viewers to enjoy an eclectic mix of sounds from one of the official streaming venues, as well as from the comfort of their own home, with the gig being broadcast on Facebook Live, YouTube Live and Vimeo.
The Last Broadcast is a free event, and the main objective of the show is to showcase the quality of music that is on offer in Cork City.
“We wanted to remind people in Cork of the level of talent that’s on their doorstep," co-owners of Unemployable Promotions, Michael Grace and Paul O’Shea said in a press statement. "The scene is stronger than it ever was. We think that this is a great way to put on a kind of city-wide festival type gig, while still following Covid guidelines”.
The event is partially funded by the Live Performance Support Scheme, with a full list of venues set to be posted on the Unemployable Promotions Facebook page a week before the event.
We're DELIGHTED to announce 'The Last Broadcast' on Aug 21, featuring 5 amazing acts performing live (in @CyprusAveCork & Cork School of Music) As well as being streamed online, the gig will be screened in some venues around Cork City, as it's happening.
