CONFIRMED: Nicki Minaj 3Arena show cancelled this evening
The show, which was scheduled to take place at 3Arena this evening, has been cancelled.
Nicki Minaj was scheduled to perform at the 3Arena this evening. However, that date has now been cancelled.
In a statement, promoters MCD explained the circumstances, under the heading: "Severe Irish Sea Weather forces Nicki Minaj to cancel tonight's 3Arena concert."
"Unfortunately," the statement said, "due to adverse weather conditions which have affected Irish Sea sailings over the last 24hrs resulting in some equipment trucks not arriving, Nicki Minaj has been forced to cancel her concert tonight (Friday 15 March 2019) at Dublin's 3Arena.
"Ticket holders are advised to hold onto their tickets while the artist, venue and promoters work to reschedule the date as soon as possible with a further update to follow at 6.30pm on www.mcd.ie
"Nicki Minaj apologises for any inconvenience caused to fans due to these unforeseen circumstances."
Nicki Minaj is one of the biggest stars in music right now. She has sold in excess of 20 million singles in her own right, and over 60 million, counting ones on which she has featured. Cumulatively, she has more Billboard Hot 100 entries than any other female artist. Her debut album Pink Friday was a U.S. No.1 hit and went triple platinum, selling 2 million copies in the US alone. In 2016, she was listed in Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential People in the World.
Nicky Minaj is, of course, noted for her outrageously colourful costumes. Hopefully Dublin audiences will get a chance to see 'em very soon!
