Clare Island to host unique offshore folk festival
Tickets and more information can be found at www.clareislandfolkfestival.com.
The Clare Island Folk Festival is set to take place on 8-10 September off the Coast of Mayo.
The second edition of the festival will bring together indigenous island creators and tradition-bearers, with a blend of leading folk and traditional musicians.
Headline acts include Karan Casey, Niamh Dunne, David Hope, The Barcelo Brothers and Foxford Session, Kseniia Rusnak and Padriag Jack along with festival sessions and songs each night.
The diversity of the Irish folk scene will be represented through Ukrainian and Kurdish traditional singers living on the west coast.

“The great success of our inaugural festival in 2022 gave us the ambition and confidence to be more ambitious in 2023,” said festival chairman Niall McCabe. “This year’s event is more eclectic, more diverse and – we hope – even more appealing.”
“Musicians and creators love coming to islands because they receive such a warm and appreciative welcome,” he added. “We are confident that this year’s fusion of well-established names with a diverse blend of local and international flavours will ensure a weekend to remember for all.”
A limited number of weekend tickets starting from €100 are available now. Attendees can also opt for the access-all-areas pass that gives holders access to an exclusive gig in the island’s Stone Barn Café.
