First Fortnight hosts gig for mental health awareness
Event will feature an afternoon discussion and an evening show featuring Codes, And So I Watch You From Afar, more
First Fortnight will be hosting an event along with Amnesty International Ireland to support the campaign fighting mental health prejudice and discrimination in society. The annual mid-January throwdown will be featuring an afternoon of lively discussion and debate followed by a show-stopping concert at night featuring Codes, And So I Watch You From Afar, Dark Notes and Le Galaxie.
The event will be taking place at The Button Factory for a recession-friendly €10 on January 15. The bands are performing for free, and all proceeds from ticket sales will be directly benefiting Amnesty International's campaign.
Amnesty International Ireland Executive Director Colm O'Gorman said, “We know that the Christmas and New Year periods can be a particularly difficult and lonely time, so having an event like this in the calendar is great timing. It gives us an opportunity to come together and fight mental health prejudice and discrimination."
The afternoon debate is free and will kick off around 2:30pm, while doors for the concert will be opening at 7:30pm. Tickets are available here
