Hot Press 30th Anniversary issue out now
Since 1977 Hot Press has looked at music, books, film, culture and politics. This bumper birthday issue looks back at the best bits of the last 30 years.
Some of our best friends came to help us celebrate with cake and champers as Hot Press mark our 30th birthday with a special issue.
Our double-cover special features Damien Dempsey, Christy Moore and a lovely cake on one issue, while Tommy Tiernan celebrates with Shane McGowan and Sinead O’Connor, and some very happy balloons on the other.
Also gracing our cover are U2, who raise a glass to three decades of brilliant rock coverage with an exclusive interview from The Edge, who tells us of U2’s world both past and present.
But enough about the front page, the real treats are inside! This historic edition looks back over 30 years of change in Irish society, with contributions from writers old and new. Some of those featured include Liam Mackey, John Waters, Declan Lynch, Liam Fay, Joe Jackson, Anne Sexton and Jason O’Toole.
You can even get your own mini-musical history lesson, with a review of our critics’ choices from the last three decades of rock, indie, trad, dance and everything in between.
David Gray, Bell X1 and Bryan Ferry also feature, and snuggled inside are more special guest appearances from everyone from Madness through Father Ted to Dustin the Turkey!
An issue this jam-packed only comes around once every thirty years - you'd be mad to miss it.
