Today FM issues Al Porter statement
The national broadcaster has addressed claims being made online and in the Irish version of the UK Times...
Today FM last night issued a brief statement concerning Al Porter, the comedian who took over their lunchtime show in January as a result of the on air reshuffle prompted by Anton Savage's sudden departure.
“Today FM has spoken with Al Porter and his management team concerning these allegations," they say. “We take any comments of this nature extremely seriously. Likewise, we take the welfare of our presenters and staff extremely seriously. Today FM is not commenting any further at this time.”
There's been no word yet from Porter who, in addition to his Marconi House duties, continues to do stand-up, front TV3's successful Blind Date reboot and on December 15 is due to star alongside Dustin The Turkey and Fair City's Ryan Andrews in the Olympia Theatre panto he's co-written with Karl Spain, Polly And The Beanstalk.
