Bono Reveals New LP Inspired by "Brush With Mortality"
U2's frontman, who says he's so happy these days that he's actually "singing like a little girl", has told how the writing of the new eagerly awaited album's lyrics was inspired by a health scare and facing his own mortality.
The Edge last month revealed to Rolling Stone magazine: "He (Bono) had a brush with mortality. He definitely had a serious moment, which caused him to reflect on a lot of things."
And now Bono has reconfirmed what The Edge said.
"Edge wasn't fibbing when he said we had to stop and take account of what was going on in the world," he admits in a new interview with Q magazine. ''He just didn't want to mention what was going on in my world.
''I don't want to get too into the details of it, for fear of the melodramatic reality TV kerfuffle. A lot of people have these moments, I've had a few. Not quite at this level.
"I'm way better. I'm on top form. I'm singing like a little girl.''
On a new track 'The Lights of Home' Bono sings: “I shouldn’t be here cause I should be dead.”
