Thin Lizzy unveil Phil Lynott drawings in Dublin

Seeing as they were back in town again last weekend, the Thin Lizzy boys swung by the National Wax Museum to present Phil Lynott's mum, Philomena, with a portrait of her son.

"What a wonderful, wonderful morning it's been," Philomena enthused to hotpress.com. "Conan McCabe, the artist, had wanted to give me the painting two years ago when he was living in New York but then September 11 happened and I wasn't keen on travelling."

Now back in his hometown of Bray, McCabe says that, "Having been so supportive of the project, I'm delighted that Philomena's here today. Since Philip's death, she's been very much the keeper of the Thin Lizzy flame."

The painting, which depicts three phases of Philo's rock 'n' roll career, is currently on display in the National Wax Museum alongside his likeness.

As for John Sykes, Scott Gorham and new Thin Lizzy recruits Michael Lee and Randy Gregg, their Dublin Ambassador Theatre shows were a huge success with sell-out crowds on both nights.
