Other Voices Embark on Tenth Year
Quality Irish acts perform an impressive opening night for the seminal TV show…
Yesterday saw Other Voices take a superb opening night bow with sets from The Frames, St. Vincent, Little Green Cars and Triur. It was held in the intimate surroundings of St. James' Church in Dingle with an audience of just over 80 guests.
Hosted by amiable Aidan Gillen, noticeable acts included US songwriter St. Vincent (pictured) who gave a striking performance of stripped-down songs from her new album Strange Mercy. Flying the flag for young Irish bands was the emerging Little Green Cars and the far-from-emerging Coronas.
The night was topped off with founding cherry Glen Hansard performing with The Frames in a performance that was so forceful the frontman apparently lost power to his guitar.
Tonight promises the wonderful Lisa Hannigan, James Vincent McMorrow, Mick Flannery and Cold Specks. Tickets to the exclusive venue are extremely limited and only available through online competitions and social media offers. You can learn more about the festival at [link]www.othervoices.ie[/link]
