The Grammy bump has helped the English crooner leapfrog the Irish band to claim the top spot this week
Sam Smith swept the boards at the Grammy Awards two weeks ago; now, the cherry on top is a week at the summit of the Irish album charts.
His In The Lonely Hour has climbed one spot since last week, switching places with Kodaline who see Coming Up For Air slot in at No. 2. Ed Sheeran and Hozier, though, are in no mood for moving – they remain in third and fourth spot respectively.
Taylor Swift’s 1989 continues to sell well, and sees her claim fifth position, just ahead of the week’s highest new entry. Imagine Dragons see their Smoke + Mirrors jump straight in at No. 6.
Below that, there’s more very familiar faces – Bob Dylan, Tommy Fleming and Meghan Trainor all celebrate another seven days in the top ten, which also includes Kodaline’s debut effort - In A Perfect World stays at No. 8 for another week.
