Sam Smith In Donegal To Work On New Material
Oscar winner Sam Smith, who has been spotted out and about enjoying himself in recent days in County Donegal, appears to be over in Ireland to work on his eagerly anticipated new album.
While very little is known as to exactly what Sam Smith is up to in the studio during his stay in Ireland, it has just been confirmed that the 24-year-old singer was in the studio with Villagers musician Tommy McLaughlin, presumably at the Irishman's own Attica Audio studio in Termon. "A very pleasant few days in studio with Sam Smith, Jimmy Napes and Malay this past week," Tommy stated on Facebook.
While Smith Smith also confirmed to one local that he was over in Donegal to work on new material. "He told us he was over making music and he had been travelling around Donegal. He said he was at Fanad Lighthouse and thought it was beautiful," Christopher Molloy told Donegalwoman website.
Sam Smith has happily posed with fans for pics in Donegal during the last few days, with many of them popping up on social media sites. While the Grammy winner was also spotted belting out a few songs during a session at McCafferty’s Bar in Letterkenny. Proprietor Mark McCafferty admitted he had to do a double take when he saw Sam Smith in the flesh on his premises. "My jaw nearly hit the floor. An absolute gentleman, and he sang a few tunes later on too," Mick said
