Niall Horan: No solo work is in the pipeline
The One Direction singer says progress on his first efforts without the band are progressing rather slowly
Niall Horan has admitted that work on his first solo material since One Direction took a hiatus is progressing very slowly indeed.
"Nothing is really in the pipeline in particular," said the Mullingar man, "just keeping the mind ticking over and doing what I like. I've always been into the writing and trying out different things musically."
Though when pressed as to how much writing he's done, he acknowledged: "I haven't done much, about five sessions maybe. I've just been chilling out."
Speaking to Hello!, he also confessed there are aspects of life within 1D that he misses.
"Sometimes you kind of miss it - having a bit of a regime. For the last six months, I've been my own boss and rolling out of bed whenever I want."
The individual members of the band – Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Liam Payne and Horan – are yet to release solo material in their own right. Zayn Malik, who unexpectedly left the band in March 2015, already unveiled his first effort Mind of Mine earlier this year.
