Gypsies On The Autobahn Live At Tower Records
With their debut album Born Brief being released today, Hot Press went down to Tower Records to watch the Cabra lads perform a few tunes from the album.
An album that was years in the making, Gypsies on the Autobahn seem to relish the opportunity to play their finished songs live. Tracks about family hardships and finding hope against adversity seem to resonant all knowing that the band's relatives are their in the audience.
Speaking to us about the efforts to get the album made album, guitarist Niall Mooney had this to say: "When it came to making Born Brief,we got away from playing gigs and from all our old preconceptions of ourselves. We decided that we’d get into the rehearsal room for a year-and-a-half and work from there. And we spent that time just working and trying to hone our music, so we could get 11 or so songs that were all up to standard."
They've produced an album that ranks among the best indie-rock out there at the moment. Born Brief is available now.
