Punk Star Refused Entry To US For Poking Fun at Donald Trump!
You couldn't make this up: the frontman of a British punk band has told how he was refused entry to the US this week after a furious emigration officer lambasted him for impersonating the US President during a live gig in German last year!
Peter And The Test Tube Babies’ singer Peter Bywaters had flown with his band to San Francisco earlier this week, but he was detained by authorities at the airport and was then sent packing back to his hometown of Sussex.
“I had only been there 30 seconds when the customs and border control guard swung his screen round and said: ‘Is this you?’ There in full view was a video from last year’s German tour with me dressed as Donald Trump smoking a fake joint. From there it all went down hill. Six hours later I was forcibly escorted to my seat on the plane,” he told Team Rock.
The show, as the old adage goes, must go on. And Pete’s band continued on with their US gigs without him. “Oh well, I expect to still be the singer of Peter And The Test Tube Babies by the end of the year,” he concluded. “Will Trump still be president by the end of the summer?”
It’s a good question…
