Dolores O'Riordan adds to Limerick's Limericks walking tour
The Cranberries veteran and Limerick woman penned a poem for her home city for a new walking tour.
Dolores O'Riordan has joined Terry Wogan on the list of celebrities who have written a Limerick about Limerick for an upcoming virtual walking tour of the city.
As part of Limerick City of Culture 2014, a Limerick writing competition was set up and the call for submissions has received a huge volume of entries from all over the world.
Winning pieces will be featured on the virtual walking trail and the competition runs until August 25; the tour will be fully operational on August 28.
You can still submit entries here. Also be sure to check out Dolores' entry below:
In this here town my life begun,
I left this place when I was young
To seek my fortune, say my say,
I found myself so far away
I made my mark, life moved on, this is the town that made me strong
