Things are looking down
The cerebral wonk-rock revival starts here: Pavement's (arguable) masterpiece, Slanted and Enchanted, gets an autumn re-release. A jam-packed double-DVD's in the post, too
Matador Records are spearheading a Pavement renaissance with the news that they will be re-releasing Slanted and Enchanted in October, featuring several outtakes and B-sides, as well as a double DVD, Slow Century, chronicling all of Pavement’s videos, two live gigs and a 90 minute documentary.
The DVD has been in the works for 4 years, its production ironically lasting longer than the now-defunct band who broke up in 1999.
